President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Vaters became the Chief Executive Officer of Orthofix in 2011, having succeeded from his position of Chief Operating Officer. He joined Orthofix as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in September 2008. Prior to joining Orthofix, he was the General Partner and founder of Med Opportunity Partners, a health care private equity firm. He also served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy and Corporate Development at Inamed Corporation. Mr. Vaters has over 19 years of experience in financial and strategic leadership for global companies, including Arbinet-thexchange, Premiere Technologies, Young & Rubicam, and Sequa Capital.

Vicente Trelles

Executive Vice President, Worldwide Operations, Shared Services and R&D

Vicente Trelles joined the Orthofix Senior Management team in April, 2011 as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Operations and Shared Services, bringing 25 years of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Mr. Trelles came to Orthofix from Med Opportunity Partners, a healthcare private equity firm, which he co-founded in 2006 and where he served as a Partner. From 2001 to 2006, Mr Trelles was an Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at Inamed Corporation, a global medical device company which was acquired by Allergan Inc. in March, 2006. Prior to Inamed, Mr. Trelles held several executive positions with Allergan, Baxter Healthcare and American Hospital Supply in Europe and the United States.

Brian mccollum
Brian McCollum

Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. McCollum was named Chief Financial Officer in 2011, after having served as Senior Vice President of Finance in 2010. He joined Orthofix’s corporate finance group in 2001 advancing to the position of Corporate Controller.  In 2006 Mr. McCollum was named Vice President of Finance, Americas, and 2 years later became Vice President of International Finance and Group Treasurer. Prior to joining Orthofix, Mr. McCollum was a Senior Audit Associate with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.  He received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration, with concentration in Accounting, from St. Andrews Presbyterian College.

Michael finegan
Michael Finegan

Senior Vice President, Business Development, and President, Biologics

Michael M. Finegan joined Orthofix as Vice President of Corporate Development in 2006. In 2009, he assumed additional responsibilities as the President of Biologics. Mr. Finegan came to Orthofix from the Boston Scientific Corporation, where he held several positions, with the most recent as Vice President of Corporate Sales. Mr. Finegan began his career in banking with First Union (Wachovia). He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1985 with a B.A. in Economics.

Bryan mcmillan
Bryan McMillan

President, Spine Global Business Unit

Mr. McMillan joined Orthofix in March 2010, as the Vice-President of Global Development, and was appointed Executive Vice President-General Manager for the Spinal Implants Global Business Unit in early 2011. Prior to joining Orthofix, he held several leadership roles at Stryker Corporation including the position of Vice President, Stryker Finance. In addition to his medical device industry experience, Mr. McMillan spent nine years in investment management/banking with the firms of Rauscher Pierce, Everen securities and CIBC Oppenheimer. Mr. McMillan received his degree in Political Science and Business from Arizona State University, and has successfully completed the Harvard Executive Leadership program and Strategic Marketing Curriculum at the University of Texas, Austin.

Luigi ferrari
Luigi Ferrari

President, Global Orthopedics Business Unit

Mr. Ferrari was appointed President of the Global Orthopedics Business Unit in July 2010 after managing the Orthopedics International, MedSurg and European Spine businesses. Previously, he was President of International Orthopedic Fixation and was responsible for the development, manufacturing and sales of fixation systems in international markets. From 2006 to 2008, he was Vice President of Europe and oversaw Orthofix activities in these key geographic markets. Mr. Ferrari graduated with a degree in Management Engineering from Politecnico di Milano University in 1992, and recently completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program in October 2010.

Brad lee
Brad Lee

President, Global Sports Medicine Business Unit

Mr. Lee became President of the Global Sports Medicine Business Unit in July 2010. He joined Orthofix in 2005 as Director of Business Development, and in early 2008, became Vice President and General Manager of the BREG Sports Medicine Division. Prior to joining the Orthofix team, Mr. Lee was Vice President of Marketing for LMA North America. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, R&D management and business development in the medical device industry over the past 15 years.

Jeffrey m. schumm
Jeffrey M. Schumm

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Mr. Schumm joined Orthofix as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel in January 2007. Prior to that, Mr. Schumm served as Vice President and General Counsel for Regeneration Technologies, Inc. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida and was also affiliated with the law firm of Holland & Knight LLP. Mr. Schumm received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Lehigh University, and earned his law degree at Florida State University College of Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida and North Carolina State Bar Associations, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the American Health Lawyers Association. Mr. Schumm has over 25 years of domestic and international public company and litigation experience.

Mark Boone

Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer

Mr. Boone joined Orthofix as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer in September 2011, bringing over 20 years of medical device and pharmaceutical experience. Mr. Boone came to Orthofix from Stryker Spine, where he served  as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, and most recently, as Vice President of Compliance. Mr. Boone’s additional healthcare experience includes McKesson Health Solutions Pharmaceutical Partners and Novartis Consumer Health, where he held roles including Senior Vice President/CFO  and Director of Finance/Controller, respectively. Mr. Boone received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickenson University, and his Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Rutgers University. He holds a Certificate of Healthcare Compliance from Seton Hall University School of Law, and has completed executive leadership programs at both Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania / Wharton School of Business.
