Orthofix is a medical product company with a lot of heart, and Orthofix employees enthusiastically contribute their time and support to various community and national organizations.
Since the mid-1990s, Orthofix has adopted the Arthritis Foundation as one of our main outlets for charitable giving. In addition to grants, our employees have volunteered over the years supporting the foundation in many exciting volunteer activities. From 2000-2005, our president served as the Chairman of the Celebrity Golf Tournament fund raiser.
The corporation has offered charitable matching for the American Lung Association, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and has supported Habitat for Humanity and several of the local school districts for anti-drug awareness programs, and educational and sports program sponsorships.
Multiple times each year for several years running, Orthofix employees have donated blood to support the needs of the community. Our employee response is so great, that in fact, Orthofix donates more blood to the Carter Blood Bank than all their other contributors COMBINED!
Since 2002, Orthofix employees have regularly volunteered a few hours each week to deliver Meals on Wheels to a group of local residents who otherwise would not have a prepared meal to eat or a visit from a friend. “I look at it this way: This is someone's mother or father and I would want someone to do something nice for my folks if they were in need”. With each season, Orthofix employees remember the less fortunate in our community with generosity and creativity. As a part of our employee picnic in the summer of 2005, Orthofix organized a canned food drive for the local food bank. Typically, during the holidays, Orthofix remembers those in need by making baskets for the elderly, sponsoring Salvation Army Angel Tree donations, ringing the Salvation Army bell, and participating in Toys for Tots.
Orthofix employees have continuously shown support over the years for our troops serving in Iraq by creating and shipping care packages, and by sending relief to our fellow Americans devastated by natural disasters on the Gulf Coast.
