Product Description
Contours VPS, the new volar plate from Orthofix, has a curved distal end, predicated by the variable surface geometry of the volar radius anatomy.
Contours offers high and low contoured plates precisely designed to fit the variable surface, based on open anatomical dissection and extensive cadaveric studies at the Hamann Todd Osteological Collection. With Contours VPS, optimal screw placement is obtained without having to place the plate too far distally. The fixed angle locking screws allow maximum purchase in subchondral bone while minimizing tissue irritation.
Other Features:
- Greater range of screw sizes for stabilizing large and small fragments
- Microthreaded screws provide stability and minimize shattering of small fragments
- Sophisticated, multiple-function instrumentation

Surgeon Benefits
- High contour plate designed to align with greater protrusions of the lunate facet
- Low contour plate for patients with lesser curvature of the lunate facet
- Two rows of fixed angle locking screws provide the strongest interface for subchondral support
- Precise screw angles for optimal support for the radial styloid, dorsal and mid third articulating surface
- Converging screws for superior support
- Standard plate length and long plate length for shaft fractures
- Bending crease in plate to adjust angle of the radial styloid screw
- Color-coded plates
- Low profile locking screws minimize tissue irritation
- Microthreaded screws provide bone fixation superior to a smooth peg design, but minimize the potential for shattering
- Unique screw housing for maintaining appropriate length within tray
