Orthofix offers innovative, cost-effective and minimally invasive products which reduce patient suffering and health care costs to the orthopedic limb reconstruction and orthopedic trauma market sectors.
Our reconstruction products restore normal anatomy for patients with a physical deformity, present at birth or formed after injury, as well as for patients needing limb lengthening. We offer the only FDA approved internal lengthening system, which is used when patient’s limbs are unequal in length. The device is implanted using a minimally invasive technique and lengthens internally to provide privacy in treatment and a rapid return to normal activities.
Many of our limb reconstruction products can be used in pediatrics. We introduced a reconstruction plate to correct angular deformities in children, such as bowed legs and knock knees. The plate is a minimally invasive, secured pediatric implant designed to harness the growth process at the joint without the need for invasive osteotomy.
Our orthopedic trauma products offer a simpler product application and superior performance in trauma settings. They are designed to be minimally invasive and are based on a philosophy of treatment that focuses not only on the broken bone but also considers the long-term preservation of function and quality of life for the patient. Our method for fracture reduction protects and preserves proper anatomy and limb alignment, allowing patients to function naturally and bear weight at the fracture site very early in the healing cycle, which are important considerations for a positive outcome.
There is growing concern about the mortality and complications associated with hip fractures and their cost to society. Published papers detailing clinical results using currently available systems indicate that only 40% of patients regain their preoperative mobility. We offer a hip plating system that is a minimally invasive method of fracture stabilization and fixation for hip-fracture surgery and which allows 83% of patients to return to their prefracture mobility.
To maintain bone stability, we offer the Orthofix Nailing System, a nailing system for fractures of the tibia and femur. The locking screws in the Orthofix Nailing System can be inserted with a simpler operative technique and help reduce implant failure rates.
Our orthopedics products, whether for reconstruction or trauma, are designed to address the lifelong bone-and-joint health needs of patients of all ages, helping them achieve a more active and mobile lifestyle. Our well-rounded product lines offer comprehensive solutions within both the reconstruction and trauma specialties.
